Jennica Mills, MSW, E-RYT, TRE Trainer

Jennica’s eclectic background in the healing field gives way to a unique perspective of how we can rediscover our balance by integrating the mind, body, and spirit.

After receiving her Master’s degree in Social Work in 2005, Jennica began working as a trauma therapist in a sexual assault recovery program. This experience helped her to develop a much deeper understanding of the pervasive effects of trauma on the entire being, mind, body, and spirit as well as how it shapes our social and cultural structure.

Intrigued by the importance of integrating the body after a traumatic experience, Jennica began exploring the benefits of yoga and mindfulness meditation. In 2005, she and 5 fellow social workers created a non-profit dedicated to bringing the healing benefits of yoga to underserved populations. After receiving a scholarship for yoga teacher training, Jennica began teaching yogic practices to underserved groups. Since then, Jennica has taught yoga to many different populations including survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, war veterans, LTBTQ youth and families, elementary school teachers, and individuals from the business community.

In 2004 Jennica was introduced to Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE™) and began practicing with TRE™ founder Dr. David Berceli. She went on to receive her certification in TRE and traveled with Dr. Berceli in Brazil studying the method and how it affects the body.  In collaboration with Dr. Berceli, Jennica and her colleague Maria Alfaro developed a curriculum for training and certifying seasoned yoga instructors to facilitate neurogenic tremors through Neurogenic Yoga. Jennica and Maria facilitate Neurogenic Yoga workshops and trainings globally.

Jennica is also trained in Brainwave Optimization and Pranic Healing. She currently has a private practice in San Diego CA where she facilitates Neurogenic Yoga, TRE, and intuitive healing sessions with individuals and groups. Jennica also facilitates workshops exploring the nervous system, psoas muscle, and trauma in San Diego based 200 and 300-hour yoga teacher trainings.
